Noisy Parker

A very kind friend gave me this lovely Parker-Knoll chair. She got it from the manufacturers in UK and brought it out to NZ. By the time he got to me, he was a bit worse for wear but we have given him some sprucing up and think he could make a bit of noise now. I just love that map fabric – I saw a very sharp woman wearing a jacket made of it the other day.

He is for sale, ($350), so if you want to buy him, let me know.

This is my last furniture post for a few months. I’m heading off on an epic and probably absolutely foolhardy trip to walk Wainwright’s coast to coast in UK. It goes from the Cumbrian coast across the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors plus heaven knows what else. I’m a bit terrified of all that fog and bog and the ghost of Myra Hindley. And now her partner in crime,  Ian Brady, died yesterday, so he is probably spooking round there as well.

However, a bit of pallid English sun, the odd daffodil, accents you can’t understand and monster breakfasts that include mega carbs, sausages, kidneys and other unmentionable bits of animals, will be fantastic.

If I survive that, I’m going to Portugal to walk the Portuguese Camino which goes up the coast from Porto to Santiago in Spain. Then I’m going to have a few red wines in France and try to forget how old I am and that there’s nothing much in front of me beside getting to be really really  old.

So - yes- I am insane - I'm thinking I might write few Facebook posts too and add another layer to all the holiday snaps that have inundated my inbox for the last few years while  you have all been going on holidays and I have been trying to figure out which way is up.

And then -  if I ever actually do come back - I’ll bore you all silly with the stories. Buen Camino to me!! L

PS I'll put more photos of this chair on my photo page.
